PROJ6002: Project Planning and Budgeting?
The assessment task for PROJ6002: Project Planning and Budgeting is a group task where students are required to devise project scope and quality management plans for the assigned case study provided by the learning facilitator. The group will be composed of two students, and they will be expected to analyse the project from their own perspectives as up-and-coming project managers. The project scope and quality management plans should include components such as project goals and objectives, project scope statement, work breakdown structure, quality responsibilities, approaches to quality assurance, control and improvement, and quality metrics. The plans should also describe the processes, tools, and techniques used, as well as the justification for the quality metrics selected. The word count for the assessment is 2600 words, and each member of the group must individually complete the Group Contribution Survey. The assessment will be graded based on the student’s knowledge and understanding of project scope and quality management, application of project management tools, techniques and practices, evaluation of budgetary and planning outcomes, development of effective communication methods, and referencing using the APA style.

The backbone of a project manager’s work is the Project Management Plan. This plan details the
project’s execution, monitoring, and control. It combines all of the planning’s sub-plans and baselines.
You and your group will create a Project Management Plan for your assigned Case Study in this
assessment. Applying scope and quality tools and techniques to develop the scope statement and
scope and quality management plans of a project is a crucial part of project planning. One of the keys
to project success is effective scope management. Project Scope Management includes processes to
ensure that the project includes all work required to complete it successfully.
